Invisible plaque orthodontics
Crystal clear plaques or aligners are used in a technique, known as invisalign, which does not require the use of wires and braces and therefore the patient's mouth's aesthetics will not be affected through the treatment. This is why this method is preferred over other methods by adults. According to the treatment plan the dentist will prepare a few crystal clear plaques and gives them to the patient. These plaques must be kept installed on the teeth and should only be removed for washing. Crystal clear plaques are made out of clear plastic and are resistant against opaqueness.
These plaques are simple to use to the extent that the patient will not even remember they are there after a short while. If you are to choose this method, you must be committed to your treatment and avoid removing the plaques from your teeth unless it is necessary. In addition, since these plaques are invisible they are easily lost, so they must always be kept in special containers.
